Meet The Team
Founded in 2013 by Abe Friesen, an avid firearms enthusiast, The Gun Shack started as a home-based FFL. Abe’s passion for guns began in his teenage years when he borrowed his dad’s Marlin 22 for some backyard shooting, using makeshift targets crafted from old barrels.His first firearm was a Norinco SKS, and he has been dedicated to the firearms community ever since.With years of experience and a genuine love for firearms, Abe is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and passion with our customers.

I’m Abe’s wife and the behind-the-scenes manager. I grew up with liberal views and was initially anti-gun, even wanting Abe to sell his collection when we first started dating. However, as a mother, I recognized the importance of protecting my family. Today, I’m proud to say I’m a conservative patriot who believes in the right to bear arms. Standing at just 4’11”, I found that a firearm was a sensible choice for me. With Abe’s help, I became comfortable with guns and successfully passed my LTC test. Now, I enjoy target shooting and am proud to be part of this journey.
